HP will no longer be able to offer sustaining engineering for Java/iX
after December 31, 2006. As a result, HP will be unable to provide
patches or fixes for new problems requiring modifications to the Java/iX
source code. Existing patches will remain available from their current
locations, and technical support for Java/iX will remain available from
the Customer Support Centers through, but not beyond, the MPE/iX end of
support date, December 31, 2008.
A new TZ mapping file
should be downloaded to address a problem with tz-getid class. Note:
this is a bytestream file and must remain a bytestream file when it is
uploaded to /usr/local/java/jdk1.3/jre/lib/tzmappings. This tzmappings
file is a copy of the 1.5 file from HP-UX.
The lab activity from the Solutions Symposium is now online.
Several attendees had asked to be able to download the code to
play with later.
The code and lab instructions are available here

LegacyJ has ported and made available an MPE/iX version of IBM's Jikes compiler:
jikesmpe.tar.gz for Java.
SDK 1.3 is now available as a supported release. The A.30.00 version
for MPE/iX 6.5, 7.0 and 7.5 is downloadable immediately. This is now the
recommended SDK version for all users.
SDK 1.3 (MPE Version A.30.00) is the most recent supported Java
release. It is downloadable from the "Supported JDK Software" link.
Patch JAVLXP4D is also available for MPE/iX 6.5 systems as an
alternative to downloading the code from this site. For users on 7.0,
you can download the 1.3 SDK from this site, but it will not include the
HotSpot Virtual Machine. 7.0 users are instead encouraged to request
patch JAVLXP4F to get SDK 1.3 with the HotSpot Virtual Machine included.
This patch will also be included in the MPE/iX 7.0 Express 1 release as well
as in the MPE/iX 7.5 Mainline release.
SDK 1.2.2 (MPE Version A.22.05) is still available.
It is downloadable from the "Supported JDK Software" link.
JDK 1.1.7B is the final JDK 1.1 release. You can download the software
from the 'Supported JDK Software' link. This is the JDK version included
with MPE/iX 6.0 Express 1.
A patch is available online to update the original 1.1.7B release to
support compressed jar files. This patch is also downloadable under
the 'Supported JDK Software' link.
