- Physical path of device adapter
The physical path number corresponds to the I/O slot where the 100VG
LAN network interface card is installed. Each hardware platform has a
specific format and designation for the physical path. Refer to Appendix
E, "Verifying Attached Devices" in the System Startup, Configuration,
and Shutdown Reference Manual for the procedure on how to determine
the physical paths of I/O cards installed in the system.
- Use factory-configured local station address?
(HP modifiable.)
- Y
Indicates that the factory-configured local station address is to
be used.
- N
Indicate that a new value should be used as the local station
address. Do not change the factory-configured address except on the
specific instructions of your network administrator or your
Hewlett-Packard representative.
Default value: Y
- Local station address
(HP modifiable.) Specifies the new local station address if the
address is being changed. Your HP support representative will supply
instructions for what to enter.
- Link speed
This field is used to determine the mode with which the card will
communicate.
Default value: 100
- Full Duplex mode
If auto-negotiation is turned of, then this field is used to determine
the mode with which the card will communicate.
Default value: N=Half
- Trace at startup?:
Enter Y (YES) to enable link tracing, N (NO) otherwise. This value can
be overridden with the LINKCONTROL command. If enable link tracing
is selected, a trace file name is required.
For best performance, do not enable tracing.
Default value: N
- Trace file name:
Required if link trace is enabled. Name of the disk file where you
want to record tracing. Must be a valid MPE file name. Enter the file
name in the format filename.groupname.acctname. The fully
qualified file name can be as many as 26 characters.
Lockwords are not allowed for trace files.
Do not specify the same file name with the NMMGR configuration as
specified with the LINKCONTROL command. Only one active trace is
allowed per link.
