HP Predictive Support User's Guide For HP 3000 Series 900
Setting the Automatic Scheduler
HP Predictive Support should be run on a daily basis. Either of two
methods is recommended:
* Preferred: Automatic Scheduler in psconfig
* Alternate Preferred: Daily Backup Routine
CAUTION Do not run HP Predictive Support during a store; do not start a
store during an HP Predictive Support run. HP Predictive
Support functionality is impacted under either of these
conditions.
Through the Automatic Scheduler
HP Predictive Support has a scheduler that, when set to on, runs HP
Predictive Support according to a daily schedule, or when set to off does
not automatically run HP Predictive Support. With the automatic
scheduler, each day can be scheduled individually, turned off, or run at
the default run time.
* From the Main Menu: Type 4 5 or configure schedule.
* From the Configure Options menu: Type 5 or schedule.

Changing the Default Run Tine.
The default run time is assigned randomly between 11:00pm and 4:55am to
keep the HP Response Center from receiving transfer from a large number
of systems at the same time. This randomly assigned time then becomes
the time at which HP Predictive Support begins a run on a given day when
the schedule is on, and a specific time is not configured for that day.
1. Type 2 or default.
2. Type the time of day. Use am or pm (see Note).
Specifying a Run Time for a Given Day.
To specify the run time for a specific day,
1. Type the item number (for example, 3) or item key (for example,
monday).
2. If you wish to use the default run time, type default, or
If you wish to run at a specific time, type in the time of day
(specifying am or pm), or
If you do not wish to run HP Predictive Support, type off.
NOTE
* Midnight is 12:00am, while Noon or mid-day is 12:00pm. You
may also specify 24-hour time, for example, 2300 is 11:00pm.
* If you wish to run HP Predictive Support from the schedule,
the entered time must be at least 10 minutes since its last
run.
* The psconfig interface automatically saves any changes when
you exit the menu.
