HP LaserRX/MPE User's Manual: Analysis Software
New Terms
This chapter introduces the following terms:
Application graph. An HP LaserRX/MPE graph that displays system resource
usage and response time data by application.
Disc Space graph. An HP LaserRX/MPE graph that displays disc space data.
Global graph. An HP LaserRX/MPE graph that displays system-wide resource
usage and response time data.
Interesting process. An HP 3000 process in which a notable event takes
place. A process becomes interesting when it is first created, when it
ends, when it exceeds user-defined thresholds for CPU use, disc use,
response time, or transaction rate, and when it is waiting for a
resource.
Linear scale. One of two scales available through the Options command
under the Configure menu. Scale units are equal on a linear scale.
Logarithmic scale. One of two scales available through the Options
command under the Configure menu. It emphasizes the variance in lower
values on the graphs.
Summary level. The time period represented in one data point of a
performance measurement. In HP LaserRX/MPE, summary levels are 5
minutes, 1 hour, and 1 day.
Tabular window. An HP LaserRX/MPE window derived from a graph. In the
form of a table, it shows the application or process data that
contributed to the measurements in the graph.
