Opening a Remote Logfile Automatically
Since you cannot open a remote logfile unless you are connected to the HP
3000 on which it resides, you must coordinate the Auto Connect and Auto
Load File options carefully.
HP LaserRX/MPE attempts to open any remote file in the Auto Load File
list. If you are not connected to the HP 3000 on which the file resides,
the open fails. To successfully open a remote logfile automatically, you
must enable Auto Connect, have the proper HP 3000 specified in your
connection defaults, and have the name of the remote logfile saved in the
Auto Load Files list.
See Chapter 4 for information on connecting automatically.
1. Specify all required information in your connection and
disconnection command defaults.
2. Select the Options command under the Configure menu and enable all
four automatic options:
a. Auto Save Filenames.
b. Auto Load Files.
c. Auto Connect.
d. Auto Disconnect.
Enable Auto Disconnect for serial connections only.
3. Click Save on the Options dialog box to save these values
permanently and set them as defaults. Click OK to save the
values for the current session of HP LaserRX/MPE only.
Do not close remote logfiles before you exit HP LaserRX/MPE.
