Moving Items Around Your Desk
There are two commands you can use to move messages or other items around
your desk. These commands are MOVE and COPY.
If you move an item you move the actual item itself. If you copy an item
you keep the original and move a copy of the item, so that you have two
copies of the same item.
To move or copy items:
Type MOVE or COPY followed by the item number, or name enclosed in
quotes, TO the name of the area. For example:
Intray > MOVE "news" TO WORKAREA Return
If you don't specify where you want to move or copy an item to, HP Desk
will prompt you. For example:
Intray > COPY 1 Return
Which area do you want to copy the item to:
1 Work Area
2 Filing Cabinet
3 Calendar/Diary
When you are in an open message, package or folder you can type COPY FROM
followed by the name of another HP Desk item, then OF the name of the
area where it is. For example:
MESSAGE > COPY FROM "report" OF WORKAREA Return
Further Information
* If you want to duplicate an item in an area, message or package
type COPY item number TO HERE. For example:
