Installing the Presentation Server
Your main task in installing the VPLUS/Windows presentation server is to
copy the appropriate VPLUS/Windows files on the
HP 3000 to the appropriate PC directory. All VPLUS/Windows product
components must reside in the same directory except for the font files.
You copy the files using a file transfer utility, such as HP AdvanceLink
or HP OfficeShare Network File Transfer (NFT).
Perform the following steps to install the presentation server:
1. Ensure that a minimum of 500 Kbytes of disk space is available on
the PC drive you are using to install VPLUS/Windows.
2. Choose or create a directory for VPLUS/Windows installation. You
can install VPLUS/Windows in any directory.
3. Copy the following HP 3000 files to the chosen PC directory using
a file transfer utility:
a. VWPCPS01.PUB.SYS to VWPCPS01.EXE.
b. VWPCFN01.PUB.SYS to VWPCFN01.EXE.
c. VWPCDC01.PUB.SYS to VWPCDC01.EXE.
4. Execute each copied file to be unpacked by entering their names at
the MS-DOS prompt:
a. Enter VWPCPS01 to unpack the following file components:
Presentation Server Modules -
VWSERVW.EXE VPLUS/Windows presentation server
VWSERVW.HLP Presentation server help file
Utility -

b. Enter VWPCFN01 to unpack the following font files:
VWROMAN8.FON ROMAN8 character font
VWLINEDR.FON Linedraw character font
Each font file contains a single face name available in three
sizes. The face name is identical to the file name (VWROMAN8,
VWLINEDR). The width and height dimensions of the available sizes
are as follows:
6 x 10
7 x 10
8 x 12
Refer to "Describe Font" in Chapter 3 for more information about
choosing VPLUS/Windows font characteristics.
In order to use the font files supplied with VPLUS/Windows, you
must install them into the windowing system. You install the
screen fonts using the Control Program in the Microsoft Windows
Program Manager. You can also use font files other than those
that VPLUS/Windows supplies. Refer to the Microsoft Windows
User's Guide (SY06851-0290) for information on installing screen
fonts.
c. Enter VWPCDC01 to unpack the following data communications
libraries:
WIPC.DLL HP OfficeShare NetIPC dynamic-link library
WRPM.DLL HP OfficeShare RPM dynamic-link library
VWDC.DLL VPLUS/Windows dynamic-link library
5. Delete the original files in step 3, if desired, to conserve disk
space.
