HP VPLUS/Windows Programmer's Guide
HP 3000 Failures
VPLUS/Windows applications can fail for one of the following reasons:
* The HP 3000 application program terminates abnormally.
* The system or system manager unexpectedly terminates the
HP 3000 session.
* The HP 3000 host system fails.
Consequences of
HP 3000 Failures
The consequences of HP 3000 failures for VPLUS/Windows application data
and users is the same as for HP 3000 terminal application data and users.
Additionally, a host failure disconnects the PC from the HP 3000 host.
When the VPLUS/Windows presentation server detects the disconnection, it
displays the following message that notifies the user of the host
failure:
Connection terminated by remote host computer.
Recovering From
HP 3000 Failures
A user should initiate standard HP 3000 problem notification and recovery
procedures. When the system and the application are available again, a
user can restart applications using the Start Application command from
the Action menu.
