SDDeleteEnt
Deletes an entity and all its references from the dictionary.
Syntax
SDDeleteEnt (Dcb,EntityType,Entity,Status)
Parameters
Dcb Required input; type = DcbType
This parameter passes information about the
dictionary to this intrinsic. It is
initialized by the SDOpen intrinsic.
EntityType Required input; type = NameOrNumberType
This parameter specifies the entity type of the
entity to be deleted.
Entity Required input; type = NameOrNumberType
This parameter specifies the entity to be
deleted.
Status Output; type = StatusType
This parameter contains information indicating
the success or failure of the intrinsic call.
This information is detailed in Table 3-1,
located in Chapter 3 of this manual.
Discussion
All references (relationships and synonyms) which involve the entity
being deleted are also deleted.
The following restrictions apply when using this intrinsic:
1. Open mode--The dictionary must be opened in either Shared Update
mode or Exclusive Update mode.
2. Security--The current scope must be either the Dictionary
Administrator scope or the entity's owner scope.
3. The current version must be in TEST status.
4. A common domain entity cannot be deleted if it has a link from a
local domain entity, or if it is used in a common domain
relationship that has a link from a local domain relationship.
