HP DeskMon: Administrator's Guide

Configuration Options

At each information screen, the following function keys are available:

   * HELP F1 gives you a synopsis of your options in the current
       screen.

   * ADD F2 adds the information in the fields of the screen to the
       DeskMon database.

   * DELETE F3 deletes the information in the fields of a screen from
the DeskMon database. We recommend that before ever pressing this
key at any information screen, you press GET (see below). Full
details of the item are then displayed, so you can confirm you are
       deleting the correct item.

   * REFRESH F4 re-displays the current screen if it becomes distorted.

   * GET F5 retrieves the details of the specified element from the
DeskMon database and displays them in the fields on the screen.
It is advisable to use this function key to call up the
information about corresponding features, such as Report Category,
before you modify or delete any information. In this way you can
check that you are altering the correct feature.

   * MODIFY F6 modifies an existing item in the DeskMon database
according to the information in the fields of the screen. If you
leave a field blank, the corresponding information in the DeskMon
database becomes blank (unless the field is required). To ensure
that no values are accidentally erased in this way, you should
press GET before modifying an item.

   * OTHER KEYS F7 provides you with another set of function keys
       defined below.

   * MAIN MENU F8 returns you to the Main Menu screen.

The OTHER KEYS F7 defined above provides you with the following set of
function keys:

   * HELP F1 gives you a synopsis of your options in the current
       screen.

   * LIST F2 gives you an on-screen list of all the items configured
for this information screen along with their corresponding
       configured data fields.

   * REFRESH F4 re-displays the current screen if it becomes distorted.

   * PRINT F5 prints the current screen and its contents to the spool
file FORMLIST, which is printed to the system line printer when
you exit the DeskMon Configurator. You can change the destination
of the formal file designator FORMLIST, if you wish, by using a
       file equation.

   * OTHER KEYS F7 gets you back your first set of function keys.

   * MAIN MENU F8 returns you to the Main Menu screen.
