ONVS

RENAME

TREE, NOTREE

Specifies if files should be scanned recursively to include all files in a hierarchical directory

INTER

Specifies more than one file at a time should be written, or interleave on the backup media.

STORESET

Allows you to specify multiple backup devices.

PARTIALDB

In a 7x24 true-online backup environment, allows you to back up part of a database fileset. Default for a non-7x24 true-online backup (that is, ONLINE=START or ONLINE=END is not specified).

FULLDB

In a non-7x24 true-online backup environment, allows you to backup the entire database by just specifying the root filename only in the fileset. Default for a 7x24 true-online backup.

STOREDIRECTORY

Allows you to create a disk copy of the STORE directory of the backup. This is enabled by default when ONLINE=END is specified. The disk directory allows RESTORE to more quickly locate files on the backup.

NOSTOREDIR[ECTORY]

Allows you to prevent creating a STORE disk directory file.

TurboSTORE/iX II Options

COMPRESS

TurboSTORE option that improves storing efficiency, compresses data being stored

MOSET

TurboSTORE option that backs up files to magneto-optical devices. Refer to Chapter 3, "Preparing Storage Devices," for a description of MOSET.

NAME

TurboSTORE option only used with storing/restoring optical devices, to name the backup with a name that logically relates the media as being from the same backup. Refer to Chapter 3, "Preparing Storage Devices," for a description of NAME.

TurboSTORE/iX 7x24 True-Online Backup Options

ONLINE

Option that stores files while they are open.

LOGVOLSET

Option that specifies which volume set to use for log files.

Note that all options available in FOS are also available in TurboSTORE/iX II and TurboSTORE/iX 7x24 True-Online Backup. All options available in TurboSTORE/iX II are also available in TurboSTORE/iX 7x24 True-Online Backup.

  • TurboSTORE/iX II provides you with certain special features not available with the standard STORE program.

  • TurboSTORE/iX 7x24 True-Online Backup enables you to perform online backups. This allows you to back up files and applications without closing files or disrupting users.

This chapter provides detailed information on the options for all STORE and TurboSTORE products.
