This manual presents important information for system managers and operators on all aspects of storing files for backup, archive, or transfer. It describes how to use the STORE command and the TurboSTORE/iX products to save files and restore them back to the system. It also describes important methods for safeguarding the information in your system. More specifically, the manual describes how to do the following:

  • Maintain your backup media and manage backup devices.

  • Plan and manage system backups.

  • Prepare the system for a backup.

  • Perform a file and system directory backup with the STORE program.

  • Back up the system configuration with the SYSGEN program.
