TermDSM is a command-based utility program which allows you to monitor and troubleshoot the DTS. It is set up so that you can monitor the condition of a single device or an entire DTC.

TermDSM provides several specific functions. Some commands provide only information, such as a listing of all the DTCs associated with the system or the internal configuration information of any DTC. If problems are suspected, TermDSM can be used to test any DTC and its connections to devices.

If a problem is complex enough that the state of the port and/or the DTC subsystem needs to be looked at by an HP support representative, the subsystem information can be copied to a disk file and sent to Hewlett-Packard.

If it is determined that a device's connection is unusable, TermDSM is capable of aborting the session on the port so that a new session can be started on the device. This is also true if the connections of several devices are unusable or if all of the connections of the devices of a DTC are unusable.
