NAME

getuid, geteuid, getgid, getegid — get real user, effective user, real group, and effective group IDs

uid_t getuid(void);

uid_t geteuid(void);

gid_t getgid(void);

gid_t getegid(void);

DESCRIPTION

The following functions return the information indicated:

getuid()

Real-user-ID of the calling process.

geteuid()

Effective-user-ID of the calling process.

getgid()

Real-group-ID of the calling process.

getegid()

Effective-group-ID of the calling process.

No means is available for ascertaining the saved-user-ID or saved-group-ID of a process.
