HP Resource Sharing for MPE/iX

Chapter 2  Planning 

Using shared resources takes planning to ensure that the resources are
used as efficiently as possible and that users have access to appropriate
information. 

This chapter describes:

   *   Designing workgroups

   *   The HP 3000 Server Worksheet 

   *   Planning network configuration

   *   Planning shared discs

   *   Planning shared printers

The worksheet included in this chapter will assist you with planning
shared discs and shared printers for your workgroups.  Use the
information from the worksheet when you configure HP Resource Sharing,
set up or add printers, or use Resource Sharing utilities to manage the
Resource Sharing environment.


NOTE  Resource Sharing uses the term "shared disc" to mean
      server-resident disc space which can be accessed by workstations
      over the network.  Other products use different terminology, such
      as "shared directory."
