HP Resource Sharing for MPE/iX

Running Resource Sharing Diagnostics

With SM or NM capability you can run two of the Resource Sharing host
diagnostics from RESMGR, rather than leaving RESMGR. More information on
these tests (and descriptions of other available diagnostics) is in
Chapter 7, "Diagnostics."

There are two host diagnostic tests available in RESMGR:

   * Version Check (Verification Test) checks to see if all software
components of Resource Sharing are present, and that their version
       codes are compatible.

   * Go/No Go performs basic Resource Sharing operations on the
diagnostic shared disc to verify that the software is functioning
properly. Go/No Go accesses the diagnostic disc and creates a
file, writes it to the system printer, reads a file, and purges a
file. It then creates and removes a subdirectory.

To run the Version Check diagnostic:

   1. Access the main RESMGR screen and choose Diag f5.

   2. Choose Version Check f4.

As it runs, the program displays any inconsistencies in software
versions found. A print test is sent to the system printer.

To run the Go/No Go diagnostic:

   1. Access the RESMGR main screen and choose Diag f5.

   2. Choose Go/No Go Test f1.

The program gives status messages as it executes each test. If
any test fails, Go/No Go displays a failure analysis.
