To Install HP LaserRX/MPE on the PC
HP LaserRX/MPE requires Microsoft Windows 3.0. It is strongly
recommended that you do not proceed with the installation or update
procedure until you have successfully installed and configured Microsoft
Windows 3.0 on your PC.
HP LaserRX/MPE software should be installed--or updated--on the HP 3000
before you install or update HP LaserRX/MPE software on the personal
computer (PC).
CAUTION Customers updating from the A version software--as indicated by
program banner lines or the HP LaserRX/MPE About dialog box--to
this B version of the software will have to convert their HP
LaserRX/MPE logfiles.
Both host and PC software must be updated at the same time since
B version software collects and analyzes only B version
logfiles, and A version software collects and analyzes only A
version logfiles.
If you have an interim need to analyze logfiles produced by both
A and B version host software, the B version PC software should
be installed in a different subdirectory than the A version
software.

modified or deleted. However, before you begin the update procedure, you
should back up the following directory and files:
* The subdirectory that contains the current version of HP CD-ROM

5. Check the AUTOEXEC.BAT file to verify that the subdirectory in
which HP LaserRX/MPE resides is in the path command. If it isn't,
you must add it.
6. Check the version number of your CD-ROM extensions. (Type CD
\CDROM\MSCDEX and press Enter. CDROM is the directory where your
CD-ROM extensions reside.) If the version is less than 2.20,
