Chapter 5 Opening HP LaserRX/MPE Logfiles
As described in Chapter 4 , you can access HP LaserRX/MPE logfiles
that reside on your PC or on an HP 3000 to which your PC is connected.
The PC-resident logfiles are called local logfiles, and the HP
3000-resident logfiles are called remote logfiles.
All HP LaserRX/MPE logfiles are encrypted and are only accessible through
HP LaserRX/MPE. This chapter explains how to open local and remote
logfiles using HP LaserRX/MPE commands and options. It also explains how
to open logfiles automatically when you start up HP LaserRX/MPE. For a
description of how to open a logfile from the MS-DOS command line, see
Chapter 9 .
See the HP LaserRX/MPE User's Manual: Collection Software for a
discussion of HP LaserRX/MPE logfiles.
NOTE If you have used HP LaserRX/MPE software prior to release of this B
version you should read Chapter 3 . Pay special attention to
the discussion of logfile conversion at the beginning of Chapter 3
.
You cannot open A version logfiles with B version software.
