Chapter 1 HP Desk Customization -- An Overview HP DeskManager is highly customizable. The entire user interface, from the Welcome banner, the function keys, the Help system, and even the command set can be altered to suit your needs. At a lower level the Application Data Passing mechanism allows applications to be integrated into HP Desk, so that they can be run from the user interface and exchange information with HP Desk. Also there is the Foreign Service Connection (FSC) which allows for the customization of the way that information is passed into and out of HP Desk for use by other mailing products. If you have HP DeskManagerPLUS then you also have access to the HP Desk Intrinsics. In summary, you have total control over how HP Desk works for you. All of the features available to customize HP Desk are explained in later sections, but here is a brief overview of some of the customization and integration possibilities.
