HP DeskManager Customization
Bypassing the Main Menu
HP Desk can be set up so that the Main Menu is bypassed whenever a user
signs on, taking them directly to an area of HP Desk. This can be done
by running HP Desk as follows:
RUN HPMAIL.HPMAIL.SYS;LIB=G;PARM=1;INFO="PECK,JOANNE/USCORP/LE:password"
The PARM parameter corresponds to the area of HP Desk required. So type
"1" for the In Tray--as above, "2" for the Out Tray, and so on. The
password can be omitted, in which case the user will be prompted to
supply it when they enter HP Desk. The mailnode is also not required
(providing that the username is unique to the HP Desk system). A more
involved UDC can be set up that will perform the same function, but will
make it easier for users to sign on to the area that they want.
If users require this facility, a UDC could be implemented for them.
