HP DeskManager Customization

Chapter 2 Tailoring User Views of HP Desk

The way that HP Desk acts and appears to users can be altered,
specifically when they first sign-on, are at the main HP Desk prompt,
read or print out messages, go into suspend mode, and see initial help
when entering HP Desk areas.

For tailoring the HP Desk banners and message headers, the files can
simply be edited using a text editor such as TDP/3000 or EDITOR/3000.
The new files that are created for HP Desk to use will be in
MAILCONF.HPOFFICE group. Note that all of these files can be fully
file-equated. These files are normal 80 byte unnumbered ASCII files, and
may contain almost any type of data. This could even, for example,
include terminal escape sequences for display enhancements. (Refer to
the appropriate terminal manual for examples of these.)

Users can also customize the way that HP Desk appears to them using the
PROFILE command, see HP DeskManager User Reference Guide and Chapter 4
for more information on the User Profile.
