X.400 Addressing
X.400 is an international standard for addressing messages. It enables
you to send a message to any computer network in the world if they have
an X.400 gateway.
As a user of HP Desk you may have an X.400 gateway. This means you can
send a message to an X.400 address and you can receive messages at your
X.400 address.
An X.400 address will look similar to this one:
Katie Wharton/X4001
(Wharton,Katie/Pinewood,LS/UK/Hewlett-Packard/HP)
Ask your HP Desk System Administrator if you have an X.400 gateway. They
will also be able to tell you what your X.400 address is.
To send a message using X.400 addressing:
1. Type SEND at the area prompt.
2. Enter a subject name at the prompt.
3. There are two ways of switching to X.400 at the TO: prompt:
* Press X400 Address
* Type +X400. For example:
TO: +X400 Return
HP Desk prompts you to enter the relevant information.
