HP DeskManager User Reference Guide

AutoAnswering Messages 

HP Desk has an automatic answering service.  If you are going to be out
of the office for some time you can arrange for HP Desk to reply to
messages you receive.

To set up automatic answering: 

   1.  In the Work Area, create an item that can be used as the automatic
       reply.  You can either leave the item in the Work Area, or move it
       to your Filing Cabinet.

   2.  Move to the Administration Area and, at the Admin > prompt, type
       AUTOANSWER followed by the name, in quotes, of the Work Area or
       Filing Cabinet item, OF the area name and press Return.  For
       example:

            Admin > AUTOANSWER "holiday reply" Return 

       If you are using a Filing Cabinet item as the reply, you must also
       give the name of the folder containing the item.  For example:

            Admin > AUTOANSWER "ill" OF "replies" OF CABINET Return 

   3.  Type YES Return to answer only messages with a read or reply
       acknowledgment set or NO Return to answer all messages.

   4.  Set an expiry date for removing the automatic answer.

To clear the automatic answer type AUTOANSWER NO Return at the Admin >
prompt.
