Making Appointments

To make an appointment in your Calendar, use the CREATE or APPOINTMENT
commands.

To create an appointment:

   1. At the Calendar prompt type either CREATE or APPOINTMENT and press
       Return.

   2. Type the date of the appointment. For example:

            Date : tomorrow Return

            Date : 12.2 Return

If you just press Return HP Desk assumes you mean the current day.

   3. Type the time of the appointment. For example:

            Time : 2pm Return

            Time : 1400 Return

   4. Type the length of the appointment. For example:

            Length : 1 hr 30 mins

If you just press Return HP Desk assumes you mean 1 hour. Note
that if you type 1.5, HP Desk assumes you mean 1 hour and 5
       minutes.

   5. Type in a subject and press Return

If the appointment clashes with an existing one HP Desk asks if
you want to put it in your Calendar anyway.

       Further Information

   * The date sequence of day.month.year or month/day/year is set up
according to national usage. HP Desk assumes you mean the current
year. Only type the year if it is not in the current year.

   * You can also make a message you're about to mail into an
appointment request by typing APPOINTMENT at the MESSAGE > prompt.
HP Desk then asks you if you want to insert the appointment in
your Calendar and prompts for date and time details.

You can cancel any appointment you have made this way by typing
CANCEL, followed by the number of the appointment:

            CANCEL 1 Return

HP Desk then prompts for text so that you can mail a cancellation
message to the original Distribution List. If an addressee has
AutoInsert set then HP Desk automatically deletes the appointment
       from their Calendar.

   * To edit or add text to an appointment you EDIT it.

   * HP Desk warns you when you have less than half an hour before your
       next appointment. For example:

Jane, your next appointment is at 15.00

   * You can type the date and time in a variety of ways. For examples
of how to type different dates and times, type HELP DATE or HELP
TIME at the Calendar prompt. You can also use the term MINDATE,
for the earliest date with entries in your Calendar, and MAXDATE
for the latest day with Calendar entries.
