Addressing Messages

   * A mail address tells HP Desk where to send a message, and consists
of a location code and a sublocation code. The location code is
made up of 6 or less alphanumeric characters followed by a slash
(/). The sublocation code of 1 or 2 alphanumeric characters
       follows the slash.

[]
The short form of a mail address consists of a location code only. * Your mail address is displayed at the top of the main menu. * Usually, HP Desk automatically inserts a mail address after each name you type in a Distribution List. However, sometimes HP Desk may not recognize a name, and you will be asked to type that user's mail address. This may happen when you send a message to someone on another HP Desk system. As long as the address is correct, HP Desk delivers the message. If HP Desk cannot deliver a message it is returned to you with an explanation. Any private messages that cannot be delivered are destroyed. * To see a list of all the HP Desk mail addresses, and to find out which users are registered at each address, type ? Return at the TO: prompt, or see "Looking Up a User Name" . To send a message using a mail address: At the Distribution List prompt, type a name followed by a / and the user's location code and press Return. For example: TO: paul fielding/ACC120 Return If HP Desk does not accept the short form of the address, you must type the address again and include the sublocation code. For example: TO: paul fielding/ACC120/02 Return
