Further Information
* When you read a message with a long Distribution List you will see
only the word DISTRIBUTION. To look at the names on the
Distribution List, open the message and type READ 1 Return
* A message may be too long to be displayed on one screen. Press
Return to read the rest of the message, press the space bar to
move to the next part of the message or type * if you don't want
to continue reading the message.
* If you receive an encrypted message you will need the sender to
give you the decryption key in order for you read it.
To find out if you have new mail:
* If a message is delivered to your In Tray while you are using HP
Desk you are notified of this by a message on your screen. This
message details the sender and subject of the message and tells
you if the message is private or urgent.
You may also receive this notification message when you are
working outside HP Desk.
* While you are not using HP Desk, you can still find out if you, or
anyone else on the system, has received any new mail. At the
colon prompt type NEWMAIL followed by a name or names, and press
Return. For example:
:NEWMAIL williams Return
:NEWMAIL williams anderson fielding Return
A full name must be enclosed in double quotes. For example:
:NEWMAIL williams anderson "paul fielding" Return
To read new mail:
1. Type INTRAY Return, even if you are already in your In Tray.
HP Desk lists the new messages you have received.
2. Type READ Return to read the first new message.
You type READ Return to read each new message.
