HP Business BASIC/XL Migration Guide
Process Overview
The set of tools provided with HP Business BASIC/XL include two programs:
* TRNSFR
* BBCT250
TRNSFR is a file moving program that runs on the HP 260. It moves files
to the MPE XL based HP 3000.
BBCT250 is a program that runs on the HP 3000. This migration aid has
two functions:
* Change HP 260 data and form files to formats you can use with HP
Business BASIC/XL and other HP 3000 subsystems.
* Translate BASIC/260 program files to HP Business BASIC/XL program
files. See chapter 22, "Reviewing What the Migration Aid Changes for
You," for information about statements that are changed.
See chapter 17, "Evaluating Changes You Need to Make", for
information about changes to make yourself.
The recommended migration process is broken down into steps below. Each
step corresponds to a chapter that includes further instructions and
information.
1. Plan the migration. See chapter 16, "Planning Your Migration from
BASIC/260", for more information.
2. Evaluate the extent and complexity of manual changes needed for
each program. See chapter 17, "Evaluating Changes You Need to
Make", for more information.
3. Move the files from the HP 260 to the MPE XL based HP 3000. See
chapter 18, "Moving Files from the HP 260", for more information.
4. Migrate files to HP Business BASIC/XL. See chapter 19, "Migrating
BASIC/260 Files," for more information.
5. Migrate databases. See chapter 20, "Migrating HP 260 Databases,"
for more information.
6. Migrate forms. See chapter 21, "Migrating FORMS/260 Forms," for
