Chapter 15 Getting Started Introduction This section describes the changes required to migrate programs from BASIC/260 to HP Business BASIC/XL. HP Business BASIC/XL includes most BASIC/260 functionality. There is a set of tools to make your migration to HP Precision Architecture easier. This section explains how to use these tools and outlines the differences between BASIC/260 and HP Business BASIC/XL. Differences between the 260 environment and the MPE XL environment are explained in chapter 16, "Planning Your Migration from BASIC/260". There are differences between the syntax and semantics of BASIC/260 and HP Business BASIC/XL. Most differences between the two arise from machine and operating system dependencies. All differences are outlined in this manual. Chapter 17, "Evaluating Changes You Need to Make" describes BASIC/260 features that are changed or missing in HP Business BASIC/XL. Detailed information about changing BASIC/260 programs to make them compatible with HP Business BASIC/XL is also provided. Chapter 17 only addresses the features you must change manually. Statements changed by the migration aid are listed in chapter 22, "Reviewing What the Migration Aid Changes for You." This chapter provides a process overview of the migration.
