Managing Peripherals
The system administrator operates and manages system resources and makes
them available to users. This requires knowing when and how to allocate
peripheral devices and how to monitor their use.
Since an exhaustive discussion is beyond the scope of this manual, refer
to the documentation supplied with the equipment for detailed information
about each device. It is assumed that the hardware devices are already
physically installed and configured.
For information on asynchronous serial devices, including modems and the
Distributed Terminal Controller, refer to MPE XL Asynchronous Serial
Communications System Administrator's Reference Manual (32022-90001).
Table 1-1 lists the peripherals required for a minimally configured MPE
XL system. Table 1-2 lists optional devices. Any of these may be added
as desired.

manual can be found in the manual MPE XL System Configuration
