Configuring Systems for Terminals, Printers, and Other Serial Devices

Chapter 8 Additional DTC Configuration

This chapter describes how to configure additional optional configuration
parameters that are available from the DTC Configuration screen. These
screens (except for Tune DTC) are only available from a host-based
configuration. These additional screens allow you to configure the
following:

   * Configure the DTC to use the address resolution facilities of
Domain Name Services (DNS) and IP routing. These services are
only used by Switched DTC ports when connecting to an ARPA
       (TCP/IP) node.

   * Tune your DTC by selecting AFCP, TCP and management timers that
are appropriate for your DTC and network traffic.

   * Configure the parameters that define how the DTC user interface
       behaves on switched DTC ports.

   * Configure the DTC to act as an SNMP (Simple Network Management
       Protocol) agent.

If the configuration is PC-based then refer to the Using HP OpenView DTC
Manager manual.

These additional screens are accessed from the DTC Configuration screen.
When the DTC Configuration screen is accessed, function key [F5], the
[Next Key Labels] is available. When the [Next Key Labels] key is
pressed, another set of key labels is displayed that allows these
additional screens to be accessed. When the [Next Key Labels] is pressed
again, the original set of function keys is displayed.
