Netware 3.11 for the HP 3000 Installing and Administering Guide

Step 3: Back up Your System

Do a full system backup. Make sure that the NetWare transport and
services are shutdown before you perform the backup.

Printer Configuration

Printer configurations need to be recreated after the migration. The
mapping between print servers and print queues is lost.

Host Printers.

For host printers, NetWare print queue information is saved. The
MIGRATE tool saves printer and print queue assignments in a file:
QUEINFO.NETWARE.SYS. Use this file to retrieve printer and print queue
names when directed to reconfigure printing (Step 9: Reconfigure
Printing Services)

Remote Printers, PSERVERs

If you had remote PSERVERs with printing devices and/or RPRINTERs, you
must recreate these configurations after migration:

   1. Make sure NetWare is up, then from a NetWare client, log in as
       supervisor and run:

       F:> PCONSOLE

       Make a note of all:

          *   PSERVERs
              (workstations managing attached and/or remote printers),
              names of printers and print queues servicing the printers.

          *   RPRINTERs
              (remote printers managed by PSERVERs.) and their print
              queues.

   2. After you have completed migration, refer to the Print Server
       manual as reference for recreating your remote printer and PSERVER
       configurations.
