COMPLEX*16 Format 

A COMPLEX*16 or DOUBLE COMPLEX datum is a processor approximation to the
value of a complex number.

A COMPLEX*16 datum occupies four consecutive 32-bit words in memory.  The
real and the imaginary parts are each stored in two words, in the format
of a REAL*8 datum.  The value of each part is determined as for a REAL*8
datum.
