COMPLEX*8 Format 

A COMPLEX or COMPLEX*8 datum is a processor approximation to the value of
a complex number.

A COMPLEX*8 datum occupies two consecutive 32-bit words in memory.  The
real and the imaginary parts are each stored in one word, in the format
of a REAL*4 datum.  The value of each part is determined as for a REAL*4
datum.
