Master Titles

A master title is a title that application developers can use on
application screens or reports. Typically, a developer would use a
master title to define a common heading or title such as a company name
or department name for all applications on the system.

HP ALLBASE/4GL automatically reflects any changes you make to the text of
a master title through all applications that use the title.

Defining a Master Title

To define a master title, select the Master Titles option from the
system-wide specifications menu. This selection takes you to the master
title definition screen.

You must enter exactly the same title name that the developer used when
the application was defined. Your HP ALLBASE/4GL support service can
tell you the names of the master titles used in your applications.

Enter this name in the Title Name field. HP ALLBASE/4GL is case
sensitive, so make sure that you use the title name correctly. You can
define a title under any name, but you will only see it on screens and
reports if you use exactly the same name that the developer used when the
application was defined.

Enter the text for the title in the Contents field. You can use any
printable characters. Don't use quotes (") unless you want the quotes to
be part of the title.
