RJE Configuration: RemoteID Screen
From the RJE Configuration: Linkdata screen you can access the RJE
Configuration: RemoteID screen to configure the remote ID sequences.
Select the screen by pressing [f2], the Go To REMOTEID key on the RJE
Configuration: Linkdata screen. (You can go directly to this screen by
typing @RJE.linkname.REMOTEID in the command window and pressing the
[ENTER] key.

The ID sequence functions as a security check. When a connection is
established between your HP 3000 and a remote HP 3000 or host, the local
ID sequence configured in the RJE Configuration: Linkdata screen is
transmitted to the remote system. The remote system responds by
transmitting its ID sequence (the remote ID sequence) to the HP 3000.
The ID sequence received from the remote computer is compared against the
remote ID sequences on this screen. If there is a match, the connection
is accepted and RJE/XL grants you access to the communications line. If
the ID sequence received at either end of the line is not configured, the
RJIN or RJOUT command will fail.
If no remote IDs sequences are configured then no ID sequences are
expected from the remote computer; they are accepted and ignored if
received.
Fields
Path For display only. The NMMGR branch you are in. It
includes the name of the RJE/XL link you are
configuring.
Remote ID Optional. A string of up to 15 ASCII characters that
Sequences identifies a particular computer. A maximum of 64
remote ID sequences may be configured.
File For display only. The name of the configuration file.
