RJE Configuration: Phonedat Screen
If Line Type was configured as DIAL in the RJE Configuration: Linkdata
screen, configure phone number information in the RJE Configuration:
Phonedat screen. Select this screen by pressing [f1], the Go To Phone
key, from the RJE Configuration: Linkdata screen. You can go directly
to this screen by typing @RJE.linkname.PHONEDAT in the command window and
pressing the [ENTER] key.

You may supply a single telephone number or a list of telephone numbers
as an optional parameter on this screen. When an RJIN or RJOUT command
is executed and the line has not yet been connected, this information is
used to open the telephone line. If CONNECT=DIAL is not specified in
RJLINE, the number will not be sent. If autodial is not enabled (that
is, manual dial), RJE/XL initiates a console request (see the following
example):
10:02/#J123/45/DIAL (408) 725-8111 FOR PATH 24 (Y/N)?
10:02 is the time of day.
#J123 is the job or session number.
45 is the PIN number of the process initiating the request.
24 is the physical path number (or slot) of the PSI card
associated with this RJE/XL line.
If the dial message has scrolled off the screen, the telephone number can
be retrieved via the =RECALL or :RECALL command. The operator, after
dialing the specified number, may need to enter a NO reply to the dial
message if the connection could not be made (use the =REPLY or :REPLY
command). For example, if the line is busy, the appropriate reply to the
console request in the example is =REPLY 45,N or :REPLY 45,N, where 45 is
the PIN number displayed as part of the console request.
If a NO reply is received due to a busy signal or some other reason,
RJE/XL will use the next phone number on the list, if any, for the next
connection attempt.
NOTE Note that AUTO REPLY is in effect for the manual dial operation.
That is, if the REPLY is not received and the connection has
already been established, then RJE/XL will automatically cancel the
console request and continue without waiting for the YES console
reply.
If autodial is enabled in the RJE Configuration: Phonedat screen, the
phone number is sent directly to the modem/ACU. If the modem/ACU returns
a bad status, RJE/XL will terminate the RJIN or RJOUT command with an
error.
If more than one phone number is supplied, each successive phone number
will be used with each successive RJIN or RJOUT command in which the line
is disconnected and a connection attempt is made.
For dial lines, the CONNECT=DIAL,telephone_number parameter of the RJLINE
command will override the telephone numbers specified here. If you do
not supply a telephone number in this screen for dial lines, then one
must be specified in the RJLINE command.
