Chapter 2 Getting Started with RJE
This chapter describes the steps necessary for invoking the RJE subsystem
along with simple methods for signing onto an IBM host and transmitting
and receiving data.
The example shown in this chapter refers to an IBM host running the JES2
job entry subsystem. (This is an interactive example but it can easily
be converted into a batch job.) You may also consult the examples in
Chapter 4, "Using RJE in Batch and Interactive Mode." Example 4 in that
chapter is similar to the example outlined here. Examples for
transmitting data from HP 3000 to HP 3000 will differ slightly from this
text. Examples showing the use of RJE in programmatic mode can be found
in Chapter 5, "Using RJE in Programmatic Mode."
This chapter contains the following information:
* Invoking RJE
* Defining the communications line
* Initiating communications with the host
* Receiving data
* Signing off
* Exiting RJE
