RJE User/Programmer Reference Manual
#RJIO
The #RJIO command applies to special situations where a one-line message
is sent and a variable number of lines are received in response.
Syntax
#RJIO messagestring
Comments
An #RJIO message is equivalent to the following sequence:
#RJIN
messagestring
#RJEOD
#RJOUT;WAIT=3
This is also equivalent to #RJIN followed by #RJOUT.
The following two examples are equivalent to the above sequence:
#RJIO messagestring
#messagestring
The second form (#messagestring) should be used only in interactive mode
and the message must begin with a special character. The two commands
are equivalent, but the #RJIO may be omitted for convenience.
To send a /*$DA message to an IBM HASP/370 system and to receive the
response, the four formats are equivalent:
#RJIN
/*$DA
#RJOUT;WAIT=3
#RJIN
/*$DA
#RJEOD
#RJOUT;WAIT=3
#RJIO /*$DA
#/*$DA
The /*$DA command is useful for displaying information about active jobs
on the host. The '/*' characters allow the user to send job entry
commands to a JES2 host. For more information on these commands, consult
the IBM publication, Operator's Library: JES2 Commands (SC23-0048).
