The latest version of HP DeskManager (B.03.R0) is now available and
includes the following enhancements.
ELECTRONIC CORPORATE DIRECTORY
HP DeskManager already provides some tools to assist in network-wide
directory administration, including the remote directory updates feature.
The Electronic Corporate Directory (ECD) facility builds on these tools
to provide a much higher degree of automation in this task. It includes
the ability to automatically send off messages to remote directory update
servers to reflect local directory changes within other directories in
the network. It also includes a sequencing feature, to avoid errors that
might occur if a directory update request failed to arrive, or failed for
some other reason.
PRODUCT ENHANCEMENTS
The following describes the enhancements included with this version of HP
DeskManager:
* The transport manager can now schedule the delivery of mail to up
to 256 computers. (The previous limit was 128.)
* A change has been made to the name matching algorithm. Where
similar names are configured within the database, a user
constructing a distribution list will be asked to choose between
exact matches and supersets only. Subsets will no longer be
shown.
* Additional support for the IBM 3270 terminal is provided.
