HP DeskMon: Administrator's Guide
Mail Process Status
The Mail Process Status check provides the ability for DeskMon to check
and report whether a given HP DeskManager process is in a pre-defined
state.
* To see a list of the processes currently being checked, press
OTHER KEYS F7 and LIST F2.
* To add a process to the list, complete the screen form and press
ADD F2.
* To modify an entry in the list, first get the entry by typing the
process name and pressing GET F5. Change the details on the
screen and then press MODIFY F6.
* To delete a process from the list, get the entry by typing the
process name and pressing GET F5. Then press DELETE F3.
The fields on the screen are as follows:
HP Desk Process Name
Any HP DeskManager process as defined in the output from the
MAILSTATUS command (for example, PCMAIL, USERINT, MAILROOM, TMANAGER,
DSMTRUCK1, and so on) except for SUPRVISR (use Job Status Checks for
SUPRVISR,MGR.HPOFFICE).
Expected Status
Type Y or N in the fields:
Running / Enabled
Down / Disabled
Check
If you want DeskMon to check the status of this process, type Y. If you
do not want DeskMon to check the status of this process, type N.
Report to
The Report Category to which you want DeskMon to report when it finds
this process in a different state to that which you expected.
An error message is generated and sent to the specified Report Category
if:
* The HP DeskManager process is not found on the system; or
* The HP DeskManager process is not in the expected state.
