How To Use This Manual This manual provides planning and reference information for HP DeskMon Administrators. The manual is structured as follows: Chapter 1 What is DeskMon? provides an introduction to HP DeskMon and its facilities. Chapter 2 Implementing DeskMon describes how to plan a DeskMon network, and gives guidelines on which checks should be made. Chapter 3 DeskMon Configurator describes how to run the Configurator to set up your checks. Chapter 4 Utilities describes how to send DeskMon configuration update files and how the Update Server works. Chapter 5 Audit File describes where DeskMon keeps track of all the messages which it reports. Chapter 6 Programmatic Access describes how a job or user can send a DeskMon message. Chapter 7 External Applications describes how external programs can be invoked from within DeskMon. Appendix A Operator Commands lists the commands that provide run-time control over the operation of DeskMon--describing their syntax and use. Appendix B JCWs lists the job control words used by DeskMon and describes their values and use. Appendix C DeskMon Files lists the program, job stream, and data files used by DeskMon. Appendix D DeskMon Reporting Process describes the internal workings of the DeskMon reporting process.
