Network Issues
Lans can be Ethernet, FDDI, ATM and/or TokenRing
A single LANIC can be configured with at most 31 IP addresses in the same subnet
Multiple LANICs must be configured with IP addresses in different subnets
Standby LANs are recommended for redundancy and fast local LAN failover
A dedicated heartbeat LAN is recommended for performance reliability and redundancy
Bridges must have spanning tree protocol
A serial (RS-232) link can be used as a redundant heartbeat link for 2-node clusters only
