HP version numbers specify the exact version of the software with which you are
working. Version numbers have the format:
v.uu.ff
where:
- v
the version of the software used to represent significant changes.
- uu
the update number.
- ff
the fix level.
For example, Release 5.5 has the following version number:
Use the SHOWME command to check on the release version number when you
are planning to update the system. You need to have Release 4.0, version number
B.40.00, (including patches LNKFX62, MPEFX00, MPEFX25, and MPEFX37), or later
to use CD-ROM disk drives for running HPINSTAL.
