NM callable only.
Retrieves an error message if a fatal error occurs in SORT/XL.
Syntax
I32 CA I32
HPSORTERRORMESS (status, message, length);
Parameters
- status
32-bit signed integer by reference (optional)
Passes the status of a previous HPSORT intrinsic call that
failed. The status value passed in is used to locate the
appropriate message catalog entry associated with the
status value. If no errors or warnings were encountered
during the execution of HPSORTERRORMESS, status
returns 32 bits of zero. If errors or warnings are encountered,
status is interpreted as two 16-bit fields.
Bits (0:16) comprise status.info. A negative value
indicates an error condition, and a positive value indicates a warning
condition. Refer to the MPE/iX Error Message Manual Volumes 1, 2 and
3 for a description of its value.
Bits (16:16) comprise status.subsys. The value
represented by these bits defines the subsystem that set the status
information. The subsystem identifier for HPSORTERRORMESS is
195.
- message
character array (optional)
Returns the text of the error message. This parameter may be up to 80
characters long.
- length
32-bit signed integer by reference (optional)
Returns the actual length of the message parameter in
characters.
