Follow these precautions to prevent damage to the multiplexer:
Keep the card in or on its anti-static packaging until you install
it, or use a static-free workstation.
Use a grounding wrist strap when handling the interface card to
channel static charges safely to ground.
Avoid working on a carpet. Reduce unnecessary movements.
These precautions will help prevent static buildup that might damage
the card.
Handle the card only by its non-connector edges
or faceplate (bulkhead).
Store interface cards and device adapters in their original shipping
containers or equivalent anti-static packaging. The storage area should
be clean, dry, and free of corrosive elements.
After removing the card from the anti-static plastic bag, place it
on a clean, anti-static work surface. (The bag is acceptable for this
purpose if there is not a special work area set aside.)
