Before you start your system, you may want to use the MAPPER utility. Once initiated, MAPPER displays a user interface that gives you information about your disk drives, memory, processors and co-processors and allows you to modify any information that you need to change. To run MAPPER from the ISL prompt:

  1. Type the following at the ISL prompt to get an ODE prompt:

       ISL> ODE

  2. Type the following at the ODE prompt to get a MAPPER prompt:

       ODE> MAPPER

  3. At the MAPPER prompt type:

       MAPPER> RUN

To exit MAPPER after you modify or accept the information displayed, you must exit out of MAPPER and ODE to get back to the ISL prompt. For example:

       1. MAPPER> EXIT

       2. ODE> EXIT

       3. ISL>

NOTE: To use MAPPER after you have started up your system, you must first stop all system activity and shut the system down, for example, at the system console prompt:
       : [ [CTRL]] A

       =SHUTDOWN

Once the system issues the final shutdown message, transfer control by entering:

        [ [CTRL]] B

If this reply does not work, initiate a hard reset by entering:

       CM> RS

Then, at the ISL prompt, proceed as above (Step 1) to run MAPPER.
