Attempting a CONNECT may result in the display of several
messages. When an application issues a command to connect to a DBEnvironment,
ALLBASE/SQL first attempts a local connection. If one of the following
conditions exists on the local node, ALLBASE/SQL attempts a remote
connection:
The CONNECT command
is issued on a diskless node.
The /usr/lib/hpsqlproc file (database server process)
does not reside on the local node.
There is no file with the DBEnvironmentName referred
to in the CONNECT command on the local system.
There is a file with that name, but it is not a
DBECon file on the client system.
If the remote connection is not successful, one or two error
messages are returned, as shown in the following illustration.
