When users type data and press the [ENTER] key, errors are sometimes detected by the terminal. IBM
display stations and HP terminals process errors differently. The
following list summarizes these differences:
HP terminals perform input-data error
checking after the user presses the [ENTER] key or a valid function (AID) key.
If multiple input errors are detected in more than
one field, Pass Thru reports one error at a time starting with the
first occurrence.
Error messages are displayed at the bottom of the
screen.
The cursor is positioned at the beginning of the
erroneous field.
The erroneous field is redisplayed with the user's
input data.
