Overview |
|
Remsh allows a user to connect to the remote system and execute
a command on that remote system. Output from the remote command
is sent to remsh's standard output so the user can see the results
of their command.
Remsh is the same service as rsh on BSD Unix systems. The
name was changed due to a conflict with the existing command rsh
(restricted shell) on System V Unix systems.
Using the REMSH Client |
|
The remsh client allows an HP3000 "client" system connect
to a remote "server" system and execute a single command on that
system. The server can be any system connected to the network that
has implemented the remshd daemon using TCP/IP. The user may run
the remsh client from either the POSIX shell or from the MPE/iX
prompt.
REMSH Client Requirements |
|
The REMSH Client requires version C.60.00 or C.55.00 Power
Patch 3 or later of the MPE/iX Fundamental Operating System and
a supported TCP/IP network link.
To install the REMSH Client, the system manager must update
the file SERVICES.NET.SYS. SERVICES.NET.SYS
is the Internet Services file that associates an official service
name and alias with the port number and protocol the service uses.
Documentation |
|
Documentation for the REMSH Client can be found in the Configuring
and Managing MPE/iX Internet Services that is shipped
with the MPE/iX FOS. Functionality details of the REMSH Client are
in this communicator.
