Using an Input File for Automatic Execution

»

Technical documentation

 » Table of Contents

CAUTION: This file creates a significant security risk because it contains your login and password information.

The automatic execution (-I option) causes VT3K/9000 to read input from an input file instead of the standard input. It does the same thing as the -a option previously described, except it terminates the connection to the HP 3000 at the end of the input file, whether or not an MPE BYE command exists.

NOTE: The -a and -I options cannot be used together.

Example

You have an input file named myexecfile containing the following statements:

hello user/passwd.acct/passwd
showjob

When you enter:

vt3k -I myexecfile remote_host

VT3K/9000 logs into the remote host and issues a SHOWJOB command. The connection to the HP 3000 terminates, and you are returned to the local HP- UX system.
